GB Outrigger National Distance – Saturday 20th / Sunday 21st July 2024

Location: Shoreham Outriggers Canoe Club – Sussex Yacht Club, 85-89 Brighton Rd, Shoreham-by-Sea BN43 6RE
V6 races (approx. 16 to 24 km) will run on Saturday July 20.
On Sunday July 21 experienced paddlers (individual paddlers with two years plus ocean outrigger small boat experience) can enter into V1, OC1 and OC2 races (approx. 12 to 16 km).
The cost to enter is £30 per person per race. The course will be dependent on the weather conditions.
The National Championships are open to all Great Britain Outrigger members.
St Ives Bay Celtic Cup – Saturday 6th / Sunday 7th July 2024
Saturday Distance 16km (V6)
The course used by the six person outrigger canoes will be the same as all other craft opting for the longer more exposed outside course. If conditions are not suitable on the day; the inside course, a more protected course (staying within St’Ives Bay) will be used.
Saturday Sprints (V6)
V6 outrigger canoes will participate in a mixed crew Le Mans style sprint, all other craft (Sunday) will follow the diamond pursuit similar to indoor track cycling, head to head time trials starting and finishing in the same place, paddlers are eliminated until a Grand finale. Approximate course distance 500 – 800m.

Wraysbury Distance Race – Sunday 12th May 2024
Wraysbury Dragons are holding a dragon boat and Waka Ama long-distance paddle event rescheduled to Sunday 12th May 2024.
This event is for Mixed Crews in standard boats and there are perpetual trophies for these 2 categories; other crew compositions can be considered to go over the course for a time only but will not be awarded prizes.
The Outrigger event is over 12 km, with one 180-degree turn.

Three Creeks Va’a – Saturday 20th / Sunday 21st April 2024
Saturday – V1, OC1 & OC2 race a 14k course in & out of 3 creeks – £25 per paddler
Sunday – 5 V3’s head to head club racing 4 categories, Men’s, Women’s, Mixed A (2 women, 1 man), Mixed B (2 men, 1 woman). Heats if there are enough teams – £45 per team of 3 which includes contribution to towing and V3 rental.
